Es gab zwei Mandolinenspieler mit dem Namen Pietrapertosa, Vater und Sohn. Beide hießen Jean bzw. Janvier mit Vornamen, es ist also manchmal schwierig beide zu unterscheiden, besonders wenn der Vorname mit J. abgekürzt wird. Der Sohn wird oft als Janvier Pietrapertosa Fils bezeichnet. 

Jean  Pietrapertosa wurde am 10. Juni 1855 geboren, Janvier Pietrapertosa am 5. Februar 1873. Beide wurden 1892 in Frankreich eingebürgert.

Diese Schule habe ich von einem Antiquariat in Frankreich gekauft. Sie ist arg zerfleddert, und zwei Blätter in der hinteren Hälfte fehlen. 

Ich habe die komplette Schule fotografiert und zu mehreren PDF Dateien verarbeitet. Die Dateien sind relativ groß, aber in der heutigen Zeit sollte das kein Problem mehr darstellen.

There were two mandolin players with the name Pietrapertosa between 1889 and 1939 in the region of Paris.

Jean Pietrapertosa (born  June 10, 1855) and his son Janvier Pietrapertosa (born February 5, 1873)

I have bought this method  from a  bookstore in France. I think it must be one of the early editions. 

In my book there a 4 pages missing in the second part.

Jean und Janvier Pietrapertosa haben Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts in Paris viele Bearbeitungen für Mandoline veröffentlicht. Ein Pietrapertosa (vermutlich der Sohn) starb 1939, deshalb sind seine Werke seit 2010 nicht mehr durch copyright geschützt.

Die Hofmeister XIX Datenbank führt die folgenden Werke von J. Pietrapertosa (der Vater?) aus der Zeit von 1889 und 1900 auf:

Jean and Janvier Pietrapertosa have published many transcriptions for the Mandolin in the last decade of the 19th century in Paris. Pietrapertosa (the son?) died in 1939, so from 2010 on his works are no more protected by copyright.

The Hofmeister XIX database lists the following works by J. Pietrapertosa (father?) that were published between 1889 and 1900.

In der Zwischenzeit konnte ich den zweiten Band der Schule von Janvier Pietrapertosa Fils (also der Sohn) erwerben die sich von der ersten Schule unterscheidet.

Der zweite Teil behandelt das Lagenspiel sehr ausführlich und enthält viele interessante Stücke für 2 Mandolinen.

In the meantime I could buy another Method by Pietrapertosa, a completely different method published by Henri Gregh with a Copyright for 1903. This method was written by J. Pietrapertosa Fils, the son of Jean Pietrapertosa.

I do only own the second part of this method at the moment, the second part is mainly about all the positions with many nice pieces for two mandolins. I have made a scan of the second part.

The first part of this method is also availabe as a download from the University of Rochester and from the Petrucci Library (IMSLP).
